Ms. George asked that the trees be planted in late fall <br /> or early spring of next year for the best planting seasons. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> A) HEAR REPORT FROM THE U OF A PARKS AND RECREATION STUDY <br /> Several students from the University of Arkansas addressed the council and gave a brief <br /> overview of the comprehensive Parks and Recreation study they performed on behalf of <br /> the City of Batesville. The group gave a power point presentation and presented the city <br /> with 5 copies of the complete study and recommendations. <br /> B) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> Mr. Damon Johnson, City Engineer, addressed the council with his engineer's report. <br /> Mr. Johnson said he received word that the Levy certification is complete and meets the <br /> FEMA specifications for certification. <br /> Mr. Johnson gave a brief update on city operations and showed the council several <br /> pictures of the work in progress for the Wastewater sewer tunnel project. <br /> C) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPLY FOR A FAA GRANT FOR <br /> THE BATESVI LLE REG IONALAlRPORT <br /> Councilmember Matthews introduced a resolution authorizing the Mayor to apply for a <br /> grant from the Federal Aviation Administration on behalf of the Batesville Regional <br /> Airport Commission. Mr. Stalker read the resolution in full. After a discussion, <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to adopt the resolution. Councilmember Henley <br /> seconded and the roll call count was 6 for and 1 (Shetron) abstained. The resolution <br /> was given #2010-04-02-R. <br />
