MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JANUARY 26,2010 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on January 26, at 5:30 PM at the Municipal <br /> Building. Mayor Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Councilmember Matthews gave the <br /> invocation. Upon roll call,the following council answered present;Tommy Bryant, Margarett Henley, <br /> Davy Insell, Fred Krug, Doug Matthews, Matt McDonald, Richard O'Neal and David Shetron. The City <br /> Clerk and City Attorney were also present. <br /> Councilmember Insell moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. <br /> Councilmember Henley seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the prepared agenda and Councilmember O'Neal <br /> seconded. All voted for. <br /> CITIZENS COMMENTS <br /> None <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> A) MR. ED MABRY WITH THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> Mr. Ed Mabry with the Economic Development Commission addressed the council with an <br /> update on Economic Development in Batesville and Independence County. Mr. Mabry said the <br /> land acquisition for the new Call Center is in process. Unemployment in Independence County is <br /> down from 9.3% last year to around 7%. The commission is currently working on a new <br /> marketing and promotion plan for Independence County. Mr. Mabry thanked the council for <br /> the City support and said he would be glad to come to the council with a monthly report. <br /> B) RECOGNIZE CENTRAL MAGNET SCHOOL FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTICS TEAM. <br />
