The next item to consider was the removal of a stop sign at the intersection of Neeley and 23rd Streets. <br /> Councilmember McDonald said he felt removing the stop sign would create a safety issue at the bottom of the <br /> hill on Neeley Street. He said there are several small children that live and play outside at the bottom of the <br /> hill. Several other councilmembers said they had seen children playing as well. Therefore, for safety reasons, <br /> the council agreed not to remove the stop sign. <br /> The Mayor informed the council of three metro cars that were going to be placed on GovDeals for sale. <br /> Unit 534, a 1999 Ford Crown Vic with 155,011 miles, Unit 522, a 1998 Ford Crown Vic with 149,281 miles and <br /> Unit 528, a 2001 Ford Crown Vic with 156,220 miles. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Bryant said he was just notified by email that the Airport has been approved for a <br /> 90/10 grant in the amount of$123,000.00. The grant will be used for access road paving. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Krug told the council that Nu-way dry cleaners was re-opening on Main Street. The <br /> business closed a few years ago and should be open in the near future. <br /> Councilmember Henley she remembered hearing that the city would soon be made aware when any <br /> new business came to town or when an existing business moved or went out of business. Councilmember <br /> Bryant said the planning commission is in the process of considering the idea of business licenses in Batesville. <br /> Any such action by the planning commission would have to be sent to the council for approval and adopted by <br /> an ordinance. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There bring no further business, Councilmember Insell moved that the meeting be adjourned and <br /> Councilmember Henley seconded.
