RESOLUTION # `7 - ,2_ <br /> A RESOLUTION IMPLIMENTING SECTION 51 . 55 OF THE REVENUE SHARING <br /> REGULATIONS , REAFFIRMING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE 'S POLICY OF <br /> NON-DISCRIMINATION IN PERSONNEL MATTERS , DIRECTING THAT PLANS <br /> AND POLICIES IN ALL OTHER AREAS BE ADOPTED, APPOINTING A PROGRAM <br /> COORDINATOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE , <br /> ARKANSAS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1 : That public notice be made to the public , applicants <br /> and employees that the City of Batesville has a policy against <br /> handicapped discrimination; that said notice be publicized by <br /> means of publication, posted notice and by radio; that said <br /> notice be incorporated into and made a part of the Batesville <br /> Personnel policy and given to each employee or other person <br /> receiving a copy of said policy; that the public shall also be <br /> notified of any changes made by the City of Batesville improving <br /> access to programs and activities in implimenting Section 51 . 55 <br /> of Revenue Sharing Regulations . <br /> �►L f \� n r <br /> Section 2 : That TY�- ` ,. � - �c is hereby <br /> appointed as the coordinator fot implimentirtvsaid Revenue Sharing <br /> Regulations and he shall take all steps necessary to that end. <br /> Section 3: That said appointee shall : <br /> (a) Evaluate programs and activities , policies and <br /> practices to determine areas of noncompliance with <br /> the Revenue Sharing Regulations and submit said plan <br /> to the Batesville City Council within one year from <br /> this date. <br /> (b) To advise the Batesville City Council of non- <br /> structural changes which must be made to achieve <br /> compliance with said regulations . <br /> (c) Determine areas where structural changes will <br /> be needed and prepare a transition plan which will <br /> describe how the changes will be made over a period <br /> not to exceed three years and present said plan to <br /> the Batesville City Council within 90 days. <br /> (d) Prepare a grievance procedure to provide for <br /> prompt and equitable resolution of complaints <br /> alleging handicapped discrimination and present <br /> said grievance procedure to the Batesville City <br /> Council within 90 days. <br /> (e) Maintain a file of his activities, including <br /> plans and procedures prepared and keep them open <br /> for public inspection. <br /> Section 4: That the Citv Council of the Citv of Batesville, <br /> Arkansas reaffirms the City' s policy of non-discrimination based <br /> upon a handicapped status and reaffirms its continuing policy <br /> to improve access to its facilities , programs and activities <br /> by the handicapped. <br /> ADOPTED this 10k. day of 1984. <br />
