MAYOR COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the city has started some in-kind work at the <br /> White Rodgers building for the new business Copeland that will be starting <br /> production soon. <br /> The Mayor said inmates from Grimes prison were scheduled to start <br /> tearing down the condemned structure on Grace this week but was stalled <br /> because the structure still has active paid electricity on. He said Mr. McClure, <br /> City Code Enforcement Officer, has been consulting with the City Attorney about <br /> the issue. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> None <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Insell inquired about the Welcome to Batesville sign <br /> located on Ramsey Mountain which is in need of repair. Jonah Shumate, <br /> Director of the Chamber of Commerce, said the sign was deeded to the Chamber <br /> by Howard and Eddie House and the City helps maintain the sign. He said they <br /> have a new design ready for the sign and the Mayor said he had an estimate to <br /> repair the bricks but their currently are not funds available for the project. <br /> Councilmember Matthews said he has heard rumors that the Post Office <br /> at Batesville is going to downsize. Ms. Debbie McKenzie with the Arkansas <br /> Postal Workers Union was is the audience and said that three positions may be <br /> losing their jobs. Mayor Elumbaugh said he would try to contact the local <br />
