Mayor Elumbaugh opened the floor for a public hearing at 5:37 P.M. to <br /> meet the requirements for the issuance of Revenue Bonds for Emerson Climate <br /> Technologies, Inc. After a brief discussion, the Mayor closed the hearing at 6:41 <br /> P.M. <br /> C) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF <br /> TAXES IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF INDUSTRIAL <br /> DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS FOR EMERSON CLIMATE <br /> TECHNOLOGIES, INC. <br /> Councilmember McDonald introduced a resolution approving payments in <br /> lieu of taxes in connection with the issuance of Industrial Development Revenue <br /> Bonds for Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc. The City Attorney read the <br /> resolution in full. After a discussion, Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt <br /> the resolution and Councilmember Shetron seconded. All voted for. The <br /> resolution was given #2005-10-01-R. <br /> D) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO APPLY FOR THE PRESERVE AMERICA <br /> COMMUNITY DESIGNATION <br /> Councilmember Shetron introduced a resolution authorizing the City of <br /> Batesville to apply for the Preserve America Community Designation. Mr. Stalker <br /> read the resolution in full. Ms. Paula Grimes with Main Street Batesville <br /> explained to the council the benefits of being a Preserve America Community <br /> which primarily involves being eligible for specific government grants. <br /> Councilmember Terrell moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember <br /> Matthews seconded. All voted for and the resolution was given #2008-10-2-R. <br />
