Councilmember Terrell introduced and ordinance that would waive the <br /> requirements of competitive bidding during the calendar year of 2008 on the <br /> purchases of used equipment, motor fuel, SB-2, hot mix asphalt, cold mix <br /> asphalt, water treatment process chemicals, property insurance and employee <br /> health insurance. The City Attorney read the ordinance in full. Councilmember <br /> Terrell moved to suspend the rules and waive the second and third readings. <br /> Councilmember Smart seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. <br /> Councilmember Terrell moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember <br /> Carpenter seconded. The roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The ordinance <br /> was given #2008-1-3. Councilmember Smart moved to adopt the emergency <br /> clause and Councilmember Carpenter seconded. All voted for. <br /> (F) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID MONIES <br /> The City Attorney read in full a resolution to utilize Federal-Aid monies for <br /> the rehabilitation of traffic signals at the intersections of Highway 167 and <br /> College Ave, Highway 167 and Lawrence Street and Highway 167 and Myers <br /> Ave / Southerland Drive. Councilmember Smart moved to adopt the resolution <br /> and Councilmember Shetron seconded. All voted for. The resolution was given <br /> #2008-1-1-R. <br /> (G) EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Councilmember Shetron moved to go into executive session and <br /> Councilmember Terrell seconded.
