Water Utility Asst. Manager Jerry Jeffery addressed the council with <br /> a request for a sewer connection outside the city limits. Mr. Michael Johnson <br /> was making the request. Mr. Johnson bought property in Spring Valley in which <br /> the previous land owner gave the utility department easements rights in <br /> exchange for the right to hook onto the sewer. Councilmember Carpenter moved <br /> to grant the connection and Councilmember Shetron seconded. All vote for. <br /> (C) POWER POINT PRESENTATION FROM BATESVILLE WATER <br /> UTILITIES <br /> The Batesville Water Utility gave a power point presentation <br /> showing several construction jobs and various routine business practices. <br /> (D) PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the paid bills report for February, <br /> 2007 <br /> (E) CONSIDER CEMETERY RESOLUTION <br /> The council considered a cemetery resolution for Charles Goff, <br /> Resolution #2007-72-1, in the amount of$1,600.00. Councilmember Terrell <br /> moved to accept the resolution. Councilmember Smart seconded and all voted <br /> for. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the inmates from the Grimes Unit in Newport were <br /> working hard on the Bayou Nature Walk Project. He said the work is progressing <br /> nicely and has only cost the city a couple of meals for the inmates. <br />
