Upon returning from executive session, Mayor Biard said the council <br /> wishes to wait until the next meeting to make an appointment to the Planning <br /> Commission. Mayor Biard said that he received a letter of resignation from <br /> Councilmember John Cooke to be effective June 30th. Mr. Cooke is moving out <br /> of the City limits Batesville therefore is resigning his position. Councilmember <br /> Smart moved to appoint David Shetron to Mr. Cooke's position. Mr. Cooke did <br /> not run for re-election and Mr. Shetron recently won the position in the May <br /> primary election and would be assuming the seat on January 1, 2007. <br /> Councilmember Krug seconded and all voted for. Mr. Shetron will be sworn in on <br /> July 3 by Judge Bill Hicks. <br /> COMMENTS FROM CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Regarding the Southside Incorporation, Mr. Stalker said he would have a <br /> motion and notice of appeal ready tomorrow or Thursday to be filled in Circuit <br /> Court. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> "REVIEW OF CHINA TRIP <br /> Councilmember Matthews gave a one hour slide presentation of the <br /> recent China trip. <br /> There being no further business, Councilmember Krug moved that the <br /> meeting be adjourned.
