DISCUSSION WITH THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT REGARDING LAND <br /> PURCHASES FOR THE WIDENING OF HARRISON STREET <br /> Mr. Dean Farris addressed the council with an offer to purchase the City's <br /> property needed for the widening of Harrison Street. The lands involved are <br /> located at St. Louis and Harrison Streets, the Fitzhugh Pool area at 20th and <br /> Harrison and the property where White Rodgers is located on Harrison Street. <br /> The Highway Department offered $1,500 for the property located at the <br /> intersection of St. Louis and Harrison for moving a backflow devise and sprinkler <br /> heads. The offer for the Fitzhugh Pool parking lot is $23,150.00 for landscaping, <br /> asphalt paving and 10 parking spaces. The council decided to take the offers <br /> under advisement and seek their own appraisers before accepting the offers. <br /> The offer for a portion of land where White Rodgers is located is $58,950.00. <br /> Three representatives with White Rodgers were present as well. The City owns <br /> the property where Whiter Rodgers is located but there is some confusion as to <br /> who receives the monies from the sell of the property. Councilmember <br /> Carpenter moved to give City Attorney Scott Stalker a complete copy of the <br /> White Rodgers lease for him to review and advise the council at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> PROPOSED ORDINANCE FOR APPOINTMENT TO BOARDS, <br /> COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES <br /> The City Attorney was supposed to have an ordinance ready for the <br /> council to consider regarding appointments to boards, commissions and <br />
