MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> JANUARY 11, 2005 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on January 11, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Pectol <br /> gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered present: R.L. <br /> Carpenter, John Cooke, Fred Krug, Douglas Matthews, Jim Mitchum, Dana Mynatt, Jerry <br /> Pectol, and Paula Terrell. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and the City <br /> Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Pectol moved to approve the minutes from the last two meetings. <br /> Councilmember Terrell seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Mitchum moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended. <br /> Councilmember Pectol seconded and all voted for. <br /> Mayor Biard welcomed the newly elected Councilmembers to their first meeting. <br /> SHERIFF'S REPORT <br /> Chief Deputy Steve Jeffery addressed the council with their monthly departmental <br /> report. Chief Jeffery said they have 2 metro cars that are no longer usable and one they <br /> would like to transfer to the Sheriff's Reserve Officers. The council decided to run an ad for <br /> sealed bids on units M-5 and M-6 to sell to the highest bidder. They then discussed the <br /> reserve officers using unit M-8. Chief Jeffery said M-8 would be fine to serve warrant but <br /> not for patrol. He said the reserve officers serve warrants inside and outside the city limits. <br /> The City Clerk said she would check to see if the City's vehicle insurance will cover a <br /> reserve officer. If not, the city could decide to donate the vehicle to the county. <br /> CODE ENFORCEMENT REPORT <br /> Code Enforcement Officer Chad McClure gave an update on several pieces of <br /> property that the council has been discussing.
