MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> OCTOBER 12,2004 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on October 12, at 5:30 PM at <br /> the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Watkins gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry <br /> Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim Watkins. The City Clerk Denise Johnston was also present. <br /> City Attorney Scott Stalker was absent. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Watkins seconded and all voted for. <br /> ZONING PROPOSAL FOR HOME DEPOT FROM R-1 TO C-1 <br /> Councilmember Watkins introduced an ordinance that would re-zone property <br /> located at 3000 Harrison Street from R-1 to C-1. Mayor Biard read the ordinance in full. <br /> Mr. Rusty Coan, Regional Manager with Greenburg Farrow Architecture Engineering <br /> Development addressed the council regarding the new proposed Home Depot. The <br /> council discussed the stop light issue and drainage problems with Mr. Coan. <br /> Councilmember Terrell pointed out that the name of the owner on the ordinance is not <br /> correct. The ordinance said that the property belongs to Virginia Henry. Ms. Terrell said <br /> Ms. Henry is a spokesman for the property. She said she would get the correct name of <br /> the owners to Mr. McClure to correct the title. The council discussed that the legal <br /> description is correct in the ordinance. Councilmember Watkins moved to suspend the <br /> rules for the second and third readings and to correct the name of the owners of the <br />
