Mr. Powell's term will end June 10, 2007. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Biard told the council that during the budgeting of funds for the Riverwalk <br /> project, in error we budgeted to get reimbursements for the administrative and <br /> architecture fees which are not reimbursable. In doing so we are going to be <br /> approximately $10,100.00 short for the expenses. The Mayor said we have the money in <br /> Certificates of Deposits that we acquired through the Levee refunds. Councilmember <br /> Watkins moved to approve the additional expenses and to pay them with the Levee <br /> refund monies. Councilmember Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> The Mayor also told the council that he got bids for painting the tower at the Fire <br /> Training Center. The bid was $3,471.00. He also received at bid to paint the City Logo <br /> in the tower. That bid was $900.00 however the lettering was too small to read from the <br /> bridge. The Mayor appointed Paula Terrell and R.L. Carpenter to a committee to help <br /> decide what size lettering should be placed on the tower if any. Mayor Biard said the <br /> money to pay for the painting and lettering can also come out of the Levee Refund funds. <br /> Councilmember Watkins moved to paint the tower using the Levee Refund money for <br /> $3,471.00. Councilmember Terrell seconded and all voted for. Councilmember Watkins <br /> also moved to accept the recommendation of the committee regarding the logo painting <br /> and to approve the cost of approximately $900.00 to be paid for out of the Levee Refund <br /> monies.
