CONSIDERATION OF PAYING FOR BROKEN GLASS ON LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE <br /> Lt. Curtis Goodrich with the Independence County Sheriff's office addressed the council to pay a bill <br /> from Abe's Glass for the replacement of a back glass for one of the Metro cars. The Metro car was down <br /> at Riverside Park and one of the mowers from the parks department threw a rock and broke the glass. Lt. <br /> Goodrich ask the Council to approve payment from the Parks Department budget instead of the Metro <br /> budget. Councilmember Gaither made a motion to pay the bill in the amount of$482.62 to Abe's Glass <br /> from the Parks Department budget. Councilmember Pectol seconded and all vote for. <br /> AIRPORT RESOLUTION TO IMPROVE SERVICE ON RUNWAY 17/35 <br /> Ms. Mary Amos, Airport Manage and Mr. Charles Barnett with the Airport Commission addressed the <br /> council to ask permission for the Mayor and the City Attorney to sign a grant offer agreement for <br /> improvements to the Batesville Regional Airport. The grant would be used to build a parallel taxiway to <br /> service runway 17/35 and the maintenance hangar on the Northwest side of runway 17/35. <br /> Councilmember Watkins moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Terrell seconded and all <br /> voted for. The resolution was given 42004-7-1 R. <br /> AGREEMENT WITH PARENTS AS TEACHERS ADVISORY COUNCIL <br /> Ms. Joy Smith, Parent Coordinator with the Batesville School District, addressed the council to ask for <br /> their support to designate the Parents as Teachers Advisory Council as the eligible Local Council for the <br /> City of Batesville for the purpose of applying for a discretionary grant under the Early Learning <br /> Opportunities Act program. The Batesville School District will serve as the fiscal agent on behalf of the <br /> Advisory Council. Councilmember Ford made a motion to approve this agreement and Councilmember <br /> Gaither seconded. All voted for. <br /> PRESENTATION ON HYDROPOWER VISITORS CENTER <br /> Rita Potts, hydroelectric project coordinator, Mr. Ken French and Mr. Phillip Freyaldenhoven with <br /> Mobley Contractors addressed the council to update them on the visitors center for the hydropower <br /> project at Lock and Dam 1. Ms. Potts told the council that the original plans for the visitors center was <br />
