MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> NOVEMBER 25, 2003 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on November 25, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Ford gave the <br /> invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered present: Jim Cargill, R.L. <br /> Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim <br /> Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last regular and special <br /> meetings and Councilmember Pectol seconded. All voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the agenda as amended and Councilmember <br /> Cargill seconded. All voted for. <br /> PRESENTATION BY UACCB STUDENTS <br /> Mr. Jamie Swisher, a student at UACCB, addressed the council and told the council <br /> about the "Riverside Park Initiative". Mr. Swisher said the Circle K International Club at the <br /> school, a branch of the Kiwanis club, took on cleaning up the park as a school project. As of <br /> November 29, the club has picked up 675.50 pounds of garbage at Riverside Park. Mr. Swisher <br /> said the club was looking at other way to help at the park such as providing more trashcans. The <br /> Mayor and council commended Mr. Swisher and UACCB for their work. <br /> RE-ZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-2 TO C-1 ON LOCATED ON 14TH STREET <br /> Councilmember Watkins introduced an ordinance to re-zone certain property located on <br /> 14th Street from R-2 to C-1. Mr. Doug Hill owns the property. Mayor Biard read the ordinance <br /> in full and Councilmember Watkins moved to suspend the rules and dispense with the second <br /> and third readings. Councilmember Cargill seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 <br /> against. Councilmember Watkins moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Cargill <br />
