MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> APRIL 22, 2003 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on April 22, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Watkins gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry <br /> Pectol, Paula Terrell and Jim Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston <br /> and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Watkins seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Terrell seconded and all voted for. <br /> PROPOSED RESOLUTION FOR WRMC WOMEN'S CENTER <br /> Councilmember Gaither introduced a resolution in support of the White River <br /> Health System, Inc., Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging and <br /> encourages the application to the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development <br /> Administration for funding assistance for the project. Mayor Biard read the resolution in <br /> full and Councilmember Watkins moved to adopt and Councilmember Cargill seconded. <br /> All voted for and the resolution was given#2003-4-1-R. <br /> DISCUSSION CONCERNING NEW RESCUE VEHICLE <br /> Batesville Fire Chief James Boothby, OES Director Bill Hicks and Sherwin <br /> Meharg with Vital Links addressed the council regarding the purchase of a new rescue <br /> vehicle. The Mayor explained to the council that the total cost of the vehicle and <br /> equipment will be split between the three entities, approximately $30,000 each. The <br />
