c. assist AIDC in certifying employers to be eligible for the <br /> benefits of the Arkansas Enterprise Zone Program; <br /> d. amend existing regulations to supersede any local regulations <br /> or ordinances which may serve to discourage economic <br /> development within an enterprise zone; <br /> e. assist AIDC in evaluating progress made in an enterprise <br /> zone within its ' jurisdiction; <br /> f. waive any local sales or use tax imposed by the governing <br /> body on the purchase of the material used in the construction <br /> of a building or buildings, or any addition or improvement <br /> thereon, for housing any legitimate business enterprise, <br /> and machinery and equipment to be located in or in <br /> connection with such building; and, <br /> g. to keep AIDC informed whenever changes occur within the <br /> zone, i .e. , an establishment goes out of business, is <br /> destroyed by fire, flood, etc._, new development takes <br /> place within the infrastructure (streets, etc. ) , changes <br /> in local development codes that may affect the zone, etc. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council in due, regular and legal session <br /> convened this /21f- day of �� , , 1984, that Batesville <br /> will participate in the Arkansa Enterprise Zone Program and request <br /> designation by the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission of the <br /> aforementioned geographic areas as enterprise zones. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if any provision or item of this <br /> resolution or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity <br /> shall not affect other provisions, items or applications of this <br /> resolution which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, <br /> items or applications and to this end the provisions of this resolution <br /> are hereby declared severable. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts thereof in <br /> conflict herewith are repealed. <br /> Jim Shirrell , Mayor <br /> Larry Willi ms, City Clerk <br /> O <br />
