• CITY OF BATESVILLE <br /> ORDINANCE NO. .1..:,--�` J <br /> BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS <br /> AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL TRUCKS, <br /> TRAILERS, AND LIVESTOCK VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS, <br /> DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to prohibit large commercial vehicles and trailers on <br /> certain streets, and <br /> WHEREAS, commercial trucks, trailers and livestock vehicles would create a public <br /> inconvenience in certain residential areas and downtown retail areas, <br /> NOW BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED, as follows: <br /> 1. Commercial trucks, trailers and livestock vehicles are excluded and prohibited on <br /> Main Street from St. Louis Street to its western terminus; on College Street from St. Louis <br /> to its intersection with Central Avenue; and on Boswell Street from St. Louis Street to its <br /> CW intersection with Harrison Street. <br /> 2. Delivery vehicles are excluded from the provisions of this ordinance to the extent <br /> that said vehicles are actually making deliveries on the specified streets. <br /> 3. All commercial trucks and trailers will follow designated truck routes. <br /> 4. Noncompliance with the terms of this ordinance shall be deemed a violation and <br /> punishable by fine within the prescribed limits under Arkansas Law. <br /> EMERGENCY CLAUSE: This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of <br /> the public health, safety and convenience, an emergency is hereby declared and said <br /> ordinance will be effective from and after its passage. <br /> IT IS SO ORDAINED this _l ,`day of 4&tk u , 1999. <br /> ONORABft, JOE BAIRD, MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> DENISE JOHNS N, CLERK <br />
