CITY OF BATESVILLE • ORDINANCE NO. 0-4` BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING CODE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES An ordinance amending the Zoning Code for the City of Batesville, Arkansas to include changes in Section VIII, Subsection II as it relates to the "C-2 Commercial Community Zone" permitted uses; declaring an emergency and for other purposes. WHEREAS, there has been confusion regarding the appropriate zoning of banks and financial institutions; and WHEREAS, the Batesville Planning Commission, after a public hearing, has recommended that changes be made to the Zoning Code to clarify the appropriate placement of financial institutions within the City of Batesville; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that the C-2 Zone be amended to include main banks and modern banking activities within said zone; now, NOW BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED, that Section VIII, Subsection II, Subparagraph A-6 shall be amended with the following language substituted for the existing language: "6. Main Banks and Branch Banks including drive in types and other financial institutions including modern banking services and practices such as brokerage services, real estate services, investments, trust services and other activities authorized by the Modern Banking Practices Act of 1997." EMERGENCY CLAUSE. This ordinance being necessary for the security and well being of the City of Batesville, an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance will be effective from and after its passage. A copy of the ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the recorder of the county and recorded in the deed of records of the county.
