i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> ® AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3.04.01, 3.04.02 AND 3.04.03 OF THE BATESVILLE <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO CITY PURCHASES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. <br /> Section l: Section 3.04.01 of the Batesville Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> The Mayor or his duly authorized representative shall have exclusive <br /> power and responsibility to make purchases of all supplies , apparatus, <br /> equipment, materials and other things requisite for public purposes <br /> in and for the City of Batesville, and to make all necessary contracts <br /> for work or labor to be done, or material or other things to be fur- <br /> nished for the benefit of the City or in carrying out any work or <br /> undertaking of a public nature therein where the total expenditures <br /> therefor is One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or less. <br /> Section 2: Section 3.04.02 of the Batesville Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> All purchases of supplies , apparatus , equipment, materials and other <br /> things requisite for public purposes, contracts for work or labor to <br /> be done, material and other necessary things to be furnished to the <br /> City where the expenditure is greater than One Thousand Dollars <br /> ($1,000.00) but not exceeding Three Thousand Dollars (03,000.00) <br /> shall be made or contracted for by the Mayor or his duly authorized <br /> • representative only after the securing of quotation bids therefor. <br /> Provided, however, purchases of less than Three Thousand Dollars <br /> ($3,000.00) at State bid prices shall be exempt from the provisions <br /> of this ordinance. <br /> Section 3: Section 3.04.03 of the Batesville Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> Inhere the amount of expenditure for any purpose or contract exceeds <br /> the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) the Mayor or his <br /> duly authorized representative shall invite competitive bidding <br /> thereon by legal advertisement in any local newspaper. Bids re- <br /> ceived pursuant to said advertisment shall be opened and read on <br /> the date set for receiving said bids in the presence of the Mayor <br /> or his duly authorized representative together with the City Council . <br /> The City Council shall have exclusive power, by majority vote, to <br /> award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, provided, however, <br /> the Council , by majority vote, may reject any and all bids received. <br /> Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith <br /> are hereby repealed. <br /> L <br /> ADOPTED this day day of 1986. <br /> 61 <br /> APPROVED: <br /> dim h1rrel1 , Kryor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Larry Will ams, City Clerk <br />
