RESOLUTION # b 4/ <br /> A RESOLUTION URGING THE BATESVILLE UTILITIES COMMISSION TO PROVIDE PROPERTY <br /> FOR THE BUILDING OF A BOAT RAMP BY THE ARKANSAS GAME AND FISH COMMISSION AND <br /> THE INDEPENDENCE COUNTY WILDLIFE FEDERATION. <br /> WHEREAS, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Independence County <br /> Wildlife Federation have asked the Batesville Utilities Commission to provide <br /> property south of Lock and Dam #1 for the White River for the construction of <br /> a boat ramp, said site having been rejected by the Batesville Utilities <br /> Commission; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the river is now non-assessable South of the dam; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologist has determined this <br /> site is the more suited for a boat ramp; and, <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Batesville and surrounding area is fortunate to have a <br /> natural recreation source such as the White River; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Batesville supports recreational use <br /> of White River and finds that there is a public need for the boat ramp at the <br /> most northerly site; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1: The City Council strongly urges the Batesville Utilities Commissicn <br /> to reconsider its denial of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the <br /> Independence County Wildlife Federation to build and maintain a boat ramp on <br /> property now owned by the City and in the care of the Utilities Comdssion; <br /> the City Council supports the efforts of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commissior., <br /> the Independence County Wildlife Federation and the Batesville Utilities <br /> Commission in this endeavor. <br /> ADOPTED this day of APRI L 1981. <br /> APPROVED: <br /> � <br /> ,,JTMISHFMLL, ACTING MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> LARRY WI AMS, CITY CLERK <br />
