R F S 0 L U T I 0 N <br /> WHFR7AS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of <br /> the City of Batesville that the Arkansas Highway Department has <br /> plans to vacate, in the near future, the buildings and premises <br /> of its present district headquarters situated at Bates and St. <br /> Louis Streets in the City of Batesville and; <br /> WHEREAS, a great need exists in the City of Batesville for a <br /> more centrally located fire station in the direction of the city <br /> growth and for a larger city maintenance shop and equipment yard <br /> and; <br /> WHEREAS, the recent influx of industry and people to the City <br /> of Batesville has enhanced the above needs to a point where the <br /> City will shortly be required. to undertake a costly building pro- <br /> gram unless suitable existing facilities can be secured and; <br /> WHEREAS, the aforesaid Arkansas Highway Department District <br /> Headquarters administration building and the adjoining maintenance <br /> shop and equipment yard would be readily adaptable for use by <br /> the City in fulfiling these pressing needs; <br /> NOW TH7h-FORE BE IT RESOLV D, that the City Council of the City <br /> of Batesville does hereby respectfully request the Arkansas High- <br /> way Commission to give every consideration possible to aid the <br /> City in its efforts to secure the above mentioned Arkansas High- <br /> way Department premises for use in fulfiling the needs of the <br /> growing City of Batesville. <br /> PASSED ON THIS THE 9th DAY OF APRIL, 1963. <br /> P.F ndsey, May <br /> ATTEST: <br />
