RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF BATESVILLE ARKANSAS ON AUGUST 10, 1965 WHEREAS, The City of Batesville, Arkansas, recognizes the need to insure its continued proper and orderly growth, and WHEREAS, city planning, including planning of downtown parking, is recognized as being of primary importance to the further growth and development of the City of Batesv.Llle, and WHEREAS, the University of Arkansas , as a state agency for planning assistance, can provide :_n addition to the work which is now being done under an existing contract the necessary services in connection with parking survey and all related pro- blems to downtown parking and can apply for financial assistance from the Urban Renewal Administration - Housing and Home Finance Agency, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, requests that the University of Arkansas in addition to the work provided for under the current contract provide additiona planning services for the following type program: The development of a general comprehensive plan for parking in the business section of the City of Batesville, includ- ing the making of all necessary surveys, evaluations, planning, conferences and all other related work that would be necessary to properly evaluate the parking facilities available __n the busi- ness section of the City of BatesvLlle. Section 2. The City of Batesville will make available upon request of the University of Arkansas , a sum not to exceed 1 $400.00 to aid in defraying a portion of the cost of undertaking the above stated planning program with reference to parking in the business area, in the event that the University's application for a federal urban planning grant is approved, m d it is re- quested that the current contract with the University of Arkansas be amended in order to include the additional services above re- quested. _ R ATTEST- .
