(W <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> NOW on this day there comes on for consideration of the matter of <br /> hot-lunch programs at the new College Street Low Rent Housing Project the following <br /> matters: <br /> WUUZEAS, It is felt by the City Council that since the Community <br /> Center was built expressly for the use and pleasure of the people living within <br /> the College Street Low-Rent Housing Project, that using the facility for a hot- <br /> lunch program for people from a wide spread area would be abusing the intent for <br /> which it was constructed; <br /> WHEREAS, That such a program will cause rapid deterioration of the <br /> (W facility because of dirt, physical abuse and food odors which will permeate the <br /> premises and detract from its desirability from a standpoint of use by those for <br /> whom it was intended; <br /> WHEREAS, That tying the facilities up for Four (4) hours during the <br /> middle of the day will deprive the tenants of the Project of its ultimate use; <br /> WHEREAS, That such use constitutes a violation of the committment by <br /> the Mayor to the people of the neighborhood that the Housing Project would not bring <br /> on any activities that would jeapordize the peace and tranquility of the area as a <br /> desirable place to live. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Batesville City Council go on <br /> record as opposing the hot-lunch program being considered to be held four hours <br />
