1 1• <br /> v , <br /> 1 <br /> ATTACHMENT <br /> OZARKS REGIONAL COMMISSION <br /> PROJECT SUMMARY—TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANT OR CONTRACT <br /> Project Description <br /> 1. List detailed project objectives. These should be specific results desired by specific dates. Objectives should be <br /> quantitative whenever possible. <br /> SEE ATTACHEMENT # 1 <br /> 2. Describe the specific activity for which Commission financial assistance is being sought and outline the major com- <br /> ponents (such as data collection and analysis, market feasibility, preliminary engineering, surveys, etc.). <br /> The specific activity for which financial assistance is being sought is for the <br /> acquisition of a professional firm to develop a plan by which the economic base <br /> of the downtown area may be stimulated in order to deter any further deterioration <br /> and disinvestment which has led to decreased employment and a shrinking retail <br /> market. <br /> The major components of the study will be the analization of traffic flows and <br /> land use characteristics, interviews with merchants and consumers so as to coordinate <br /> the outcome of the final plan and the preparation of preliminary engineering <br /> designs which will be followed by final engineering designs pending approval of <br /> the plan. The plan will additionally provide methods for addressing traffic <br /> conjestion, desolation of buildings and anti-aesthetic features. <br /> T-5-77 <br />
