Discuss any regional (multi-state) significance the project might have. <br /> The City of Batesville, Arkansas has been designated by the White River Planning <br /> and Development 'District as one of the three Economic Development Centers for <br /> this area which is composed of ten rural counties. The reason for Batesville's <br /> selection was growth potential , proximity and accessibility to re-development <br /> areas, services provided, etc. <br /> The approval and implementation of this project-for the downtown area should <br /> serve as a stimuli for similar projects within�he District and concurrently <br /> encourage downtown development hand-in-hand with improved community services <br /> which is basically dependent on pedestrian traffic in a rural community. <br /> T-5-77 <br />
