Councilmember Ford <br /> seconded and all voted for. <br /> ORDINANCE TO RE-ZONE A TRACT OF LAND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF <br /> HARRISON STREET FROM R-1 TO C-2 <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance that would re-zone certain property on the <br /> north side of Harrison Street near the Gap Road intersection from R-1 to C-2. <br /> The Mobley Lumber Company presently owns the land. Councilmember Cargill <br /> moved to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the second reading. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 1 (Pectol) <br /> against. The Mayor read the ordinance for the second reading. Because Mr. <br /> Mobley was not present at the meeting to answer questions regarding the re- <br /> zoning, the council tabled the ordinance. The ordinance will be placed on the <br /> next meetings agenda for the third and final reading. <br /> PROPOSAL TO ASSIST THE AIRPORT <br /> At the last meeting, the council was informed that the airport was having <br /> financial problems primarily because of the runway overlay and the loss of fuel <br /> revenues from the airport being temporarily closed. The Mayor told the council <br /> that the city had a $200,000 CD that matured and would need to be reinvested <br /> tomorrow. The Mayor proposed giving the airport $47,687.35 which is the cost <br /> for 5 employees from March through December. He said with this help, the <br /> airport could start rebuilding its reserve funds. With the remaining money, the <br /> Mayor asked to put $52,312.65 in the Mayor's Discretionary Account and <br />
