CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX A SMALL TRACT OF LAND ON <br /> HIGHWAY 167 NORTH — COLLIER PROPERTY <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance that would accept the annexation of <br /> certain property to the City of Batesville located on Highway 167 North across <br /> from the Ramada Inn. Mr. Bob Stroud was present to answer any question from <br /> the council. Mr. Stroud said the land surrounding the property is in the City limits <br /> and the property is currently up for sale. Councilmember Bone moved to <br /> suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the second reading and <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded. The roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. <br /> The Mayor read the ordinance for the second reading and Councilmember Cargill <br /> moved to further suspend the rules and place the ordinance of the third reading. <br /> Councilmember Carpenter seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 <br /> against. The Mayor read the ordinance for the final reading and Councilmember <br /> Gaither moved to adopt the ordinance. Councilmember Pectol seconded and the <br /> roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The motion passed and the ordinance <br /> was given #98-5-2. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> The Mayor said that parking in the downtown area was a growing <br /> problem. He said that he had appointed a committee to study the parking and <br /> offer suggestions for correction. The committee consists of Councilmembers <br /> Insell, Chairman, Pectol, Ford, and Gaither. <br />
