MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MAY 11, 1999 <br /> The Batesville City Council met for its regular meeting on May 11, at 5:30 <br /> P.M. at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. <br /> Councilmember Pectol gave the invocation. Upon roll call, all the council <br /> answered present. Also present were the City Clerk and the City Attorney. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Insell seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Insell moved to approve the prepared agenda as <br /> amended and Councilmember Ford seconded. All voted for. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS PART 1 <br /> Mayor Biard told the council he received a letter from Dan Flowers with <br /> the Highway Commission regarding a possible eastern bypass around Batesville. <br /> The proposed bypass would make a new street off Jennings Drive and would <br /> connect with Eagle Mountain. The Mayor said the council can study this <br /> proposal and pass a resolution at a later meeting. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ANNEXATION <br /> Mayor Biard opened the public hearing at 5:32 P.M. for the proposed <br /> annexation. Mayor Biard gave a short presentation why the City should annex <br /> additional land into the city limits. He then opened the floor to the public for <br /> questions and answers. After a lengthy discussion, the Mayor closed the public <br /> hearing. Approximately 200 people attended the public hearing. <br />
