MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> APRIL 10, 2001 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on April 10, at 5:30 PM at the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember Ford gave the <br /> invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered present; Dana Bone, Jim <br /> Cargill, R. L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol and Jim <br /> Watkins. Also present were the City Clerk Denise Johnston and City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. <br /> Councilmember Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda and Councilmember Cargill <br /> seconded. All voted for. <br /> ORDINANCE PROPOSAL TO CHANGE ZONING FROM C-2 TO C-3, 5.20 ACRES AT THE <br /> INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 233 & 25 <br /> Mayor Biard read an ordinance that would re-zone certain property of Howard L. House, <br /> Edward House, George Ring and Preston Grace, Jr. from C-2 Commercial to C-3 Commercial. <br /> The property is located North and West of the intersection of East Main and White Drive. <br /> Councilmember Watkins moved to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the second <br /> reading by title only. Councilmember Bone seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 <br /> against. The Mayor read the ordinance for the second reading and Councilmember Bone <br /> moved to further suspend the rules and place the ordinance on the third reading by title only. <br /> Councilmember Cargill seconded and the roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The Mayor <br /> read the ordinance for the final reading. Councilmember Watkins moved to adopt the ordinance <br /> and Councilmember Bone seconded. The roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The <br /> ordinance was given #2001-4-1. Councilmember Gaither moved to adopt the emergency <br /> clause. Councilmember Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br />
