MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> SEPTEMBER 25, 2001 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on September 25, at 5:30 PM <br /> at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard presided over the meeting. Councilmember <br /> Ford gave the invocation. Upon roll call the following Councilmembers answered <br /> present: Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry <br /> Pectol and Jim Watkins. Councilmember Dana Bone was absent. Also present were the <br /> City Clerk Denise Johnston and the City Attorney Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. <br /> Councilmember Watkins seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda. Councilmember <br /> Gaither seconded and all voted for. <br /> REPORT FROM CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER <br /> Code Enforcement Officer Chad McClure gave the council an update on certain <br /> properties he was working on in the City. He reminded the council of the public hearing <br /> set for the next council meeting to meet the requirements for condemning five pieces of <br /> property. The council asked the City Attorney to see if a person enlisted in the military <br /> would be exempt from condemnation proceedings. Mr. Stalker said he check and said <br /> there were no exceptions for military personnel and that property located at 2455 Neeley <br /> owned by Mr. David Pinkston had been through due process and the council can proceed <br /> with the condemnation. Councilmember Pectol moved to tear down the property at 2455 <br /> Neeley and Councilmember Cargill seconded. All voted for. Mr. McClure informed the <br /> council of several cases that would be in Municipal Court over the next few weeks. <br />
