B) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the council with his monthly report. He <br /> said everything is "business as usual" within most departments. The <br /> Construction Department is still working on replacing sewer lines. Both Water <br /> and Wastewater plants are running smooth. The contractors have begun milling <br /> on Main Street. Once this process is finished, curbing work will be started as <br /> weather permits and then move on to repaving. <br /> C) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY A TAX ON CERTAIN <br /> ACCOMMODATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF AN <br /> ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS COMMISSION <br /> Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance to levy taxes on certain <br /> accommodations and authorizing the creation of an Advertising and Promotions <br /> Commission. Councilmember Bryant made a motion to read by title only. <br /> Councilmember Matthews seconded. The electronic vote was 7 for and 0 <br /> against. Mayor Elumbaugh read the ordinance by title only. The ordinance will <br /> be placed on the next agenda for the second reading. <br /> D) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ENFORCEMENT AND <br /> COLLECTION OF TAXES LEVIED BY THE CITY ON HOTELS AND MOTELS <br /> Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance to provide for the enforcement <br /> and collection of taxes levied by the City on hotels and motels. Councilmember <br /> Bryant made a motion to read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember <br /> Henley seconded. The electronic vote was 7 for and 0 against. Mayor <br />
