MINUTE OF COUNCIL <br /> JANUARY 8, 2002 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on January 8 at 5:30 <br /> p.m. at the Municipal Building. Mayor Joe Biard called the meeting to order. <br /> Councilmember Ford gave the invocation. After a roll call, the following members <br /> answered present: Dana Bone, Jim Cargill, R.L. Carpenter, Robert Ford, Gerald <br /> Gaither, Jim Mitchum, Jerry Pectol and Jim Watkins. Also present were the City <br /> Clerk, Denise Johnston and City Attorney, Scott Stalker. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the minutes from the previous <br /> meeting and Councilmember Watkins seconded. All voted for. <br /> Councilmember Ford moved to approve the prepared agenda as amended <br /> and Councilmember Cargill seconded. All voted for. <br /> BATESVILLE ARTS COUNCIL <br /> Mr. Jim Tucker addressed the council regarding the cleaning up of the old <br /> Marvin Hotel. Mr. Tucker said he had made arrangements with the courts to use <br /> inmates to help the cleaning. Mr. Tucker said he hoped to begin the cleaning <br /> within the next 4 or 5 days and be completed by mid February. Councilmember <br /> Gaither asked if the city was going to recover the $600. that was spent to remove <br /> a wall inside the hotel when it was on fire. The Mayor said the City Attorney was <br /> checking on that matter. Mr. Gaither moved to proceed, if possible, with the <br /> process to recover the money. Councilmember Cargill seconded and all voted <br /> for. <br /> CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO RE-ZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-2 <br /> TO C-1 LOCATED AT 24TH AND BYERS STREETS. <br />
