ORDINANCE NO. () - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ANNUAL SALARIES FOR THE OFFICES OF MAYOR, CITY CLERK/TREASURER AND CITY ATTORNEY FOR THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Batesville desires to set forth in ordinance form the annual salaries for the elected positions of Mayor, City Clerk/Treasurer and City Attorney. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,ARKANSAS: SECTION 1 —Salary for the Office of Mayor: Effective January 1, 2017 the annual salary for the Office of Mayor shall be $71,942.07. SECTION 2—Salary for the Office of City Clerk/Treasurer: Effective January 1, 2017 the annual salary for the Office of City Clerk/Treasurer shall be $55,137.34. SECTION 3—Salary for the Office of City Attorney: Effective January 1, 2017 the annual salary for the Office of City Attorney shall be $34,330.35 SECTION 4—SEVERABILITY: Severability is intended throughout and within this Ordinance. If any provision, including any exception, part,phrase, or term, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance(s) is held invalid,the application to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby, and the validity of this ordinance in any and all respects shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 5—Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances: All ordinances or parts of other ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 6 -EMERGENCY: The City Council has found and determined that it is in the public interest to set forth these salaries in ordinance form. For and In consideration of the public interest to be preserved, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after the date of its passage.
