• RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> The City Planning Commission of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, held their regular <br /> monthly meeting on Monday, June 7, 2010, with Chairman Steven Lewis presiding. Also <br /> present were Secretary Brian Langston, and Commission members, Ronnie Hampton, <br /> Ken Smith and Nina Womack. Absent were Mike Fagan and Carma Osborn. <br /> A request for a street closing by Townsend's, Inc. Greg Byler and Paul Taylor <br /> representing Townsend's, Inc, appeared before the City Planning Commission with a <br /> request for the closure of Allen Street from all city through traffic from Lawrence St. <br /> south to Stadium Street. A Street Abandonment Plat drawing was presented to the <br /> commission showing the property location description and existing utilities with <br /> easements. The request being made based on security for plant employees and the <br /> processing utility facility. Fencing will be installed at closure. Townsend's presently <br /> owns property directly across (west) of Allen St. and the only other property owner west <br /> of Allen St. being Preston Grace, (White River Petroleum, Inc.) Townsend's stated that <br /> Mr. Grace is also in agreement for closure and a petition will be signed substantiating <br /> this. Any future traffic accidentally turning on to Allen St. will be allowed to use their <br /> parking lot for a turn around. There was no one in attendance at the planning commission <br /> meeting who voiced any opinion against the street closure. <br /> Commissioner Hampton moved that the Planning Commission recommend to the City <br /> Council of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, that a Public Hearing be held by the City <br /> Council with the intent to close Allen St. from all city through traffic from Lawrence <br /> Street south to Stadium Street. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith and <br /> upon vote of the Commission was passed unanimously by all those present other than <br /> Commissioner Fagan and Osborn who were absent from voting. <br /> Therefore, the City Planning Commission of the City of Batesville, Arkansas <br /> recommends to the City Council of the City of Batesville, Arkansas, that the appropriate <br /> action be taken by the City Council to carry out the recommendations of the City <br /> Planning Commission. <br /> Batesvillg City Planning Commission <br /> By -�J <br /> Steven Lewis, Chaim <br /> By _ <br /> { Brian Langston, Secretary <br />
