RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The City Planning Commission of the City of Batesville, <br />sas, ;veld its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, I -larch 4, <br />1975, with Chairman Charles Barnett presiding. Also present <br />e Secretary Virginia Kirk, and Corunission members Frances <br />Williams, uoanie A. ` im Boylan and Dr. O. E.. Jones, Jr. <br />A hearing was had with refurence to the petition filed by the <br />Shoppers Company, an Arkansas General Partnership co::iposed of 4131. L. <br />Bell, R. Z�. `�raicg, Toward y�. iao�:se, :eith Sys an,! Bob Slaughter <br />asking for t *.(: rezoning of tale following described property, <br />to -wit: <br />Pare: of the Southeast Quartar (SL'4-) of the °lortheast <br />Qaarter (NEE) of Section 16, Township 13 North, Range <br />6 West, and described as follows: Beginning at quarter <br />section corner between Sections 15 and 16 in aforesaid <br />township and range in center of iTarrison Street; thence <br />North 25 feet to North sici of ITarrison Street; thence <br />North 550 feet for place o:` beginning of this conveyance; <br />thence lYest 60 feet; tiience North 100 feet; thence East <br />60 feet; t:ence South 100 feet to place of beginning. <br />The petition sought the rezoning of the above described <br />property from a residential -21 district to a co',"ibmer_cial C-2 <br />Idistrict. <br />The Shoppers Company �,as r�_�t)resented by Samuel C. i�ighsmith, <br />its attorney. Presented to :he Corn-nission was a plat showing the <br />use of the property and the ComaTiAssion was advised that the <br />adjacent tract of land had been rezoned by the City of Batesville <br />in 24ovember of 1974. Also presented to the Commission was a proof <br />of publication showing that the notice of public hearing had been <br />given more than 15 days prior to the date set for laearing, and <br />there were no protestants present. <br />After the matters were presented to the Commission, Commis- <br />sioner Williams moved that the Commission recommend to the City <br />Council of the City of Datesville, Arkansas, that the applica- <br />tion for rezoning be approved. 'she motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Jones, and upon a vote of the Commission was passed <br />unanimously. <br />
