• CITY OF BATESVILLE ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO.20111X-Q <br /> AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING THE CITY OF BATESVILLE TO <br /> CONTRACT WITH ITS EMPLOYEES AND THEIR BUSINESS ASSOCIATES FOR <br /> GOODS AND SERVICES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. <br /> WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Batesville requires goods and services to <br /> fulfill its obligations for various projects; and <br /> WHEREAS,from time to time, the City of Batesville finds it necessary to seek goods <br /> and services, often on short notice, that a limited number of persons or entities in our area can <br /> provide within the time period required; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2009-4-1 currently permits the City of Batesville to contract <br /> with its employees and business associates for incidental goods and services not exceeding <br /> $2,000.00 annually; and <br /> • WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that the Mayor or his designee be <br /> permitted to contract for such goods and services with City employees or their business <br /> associates in a less restrictive and more practical manner. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Batesville, <br /> Arkansas: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to contract with City <br /> employees or their business associates for goods and services. <br /> Section 2. That this authority is limited to a contractual amount of$5,000.00 for <br /> goods and services per contract. <br /> Section 3. The Mayor or his designee may,however, enter into contracts involving <br /> funds in excess of those addressed in Section 2 herein with the express approval of the City <br /> ® Council by majority vote. <br />
