• <br /> ORDINANCE NO.-6- al— )-o <br /> AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CHANGES TO THE CITY OF <br /> BATESVILLE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK POLICY FOR A DRUG AND <br /> ALCOHOL FREE WORKPLACE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Batesville Employee Handbook was first adopted by <br /> resolution on April 24, 2001, and it was thereafter amended on October 23, 2001, <br /> November 13, 2001 and June 26, 2007. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Batesville Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace <br /> was adopted by Ordinance No. 2001-12-2 as a part of the City of Batesville <br /> Employee Handbook. <br /> WHEREAS, the City's Safety Director has reviewed and recommended changes <br /> to the City's current Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace; and <br /> • WHEREAS, changes to the City's Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace <br /> submitted by the City's Safety Director are necessary to ensure the City's policies <br /> are consistent with state and federal laws; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to keep its policies current with the <br /> changing state and federal laws. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS, <br /> SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 2001-12-2, accepting the previous Employee <br /> Handbook and Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace is hereby repealed. <br /> SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall replace and repeal any resolution previously <br /> passed or adopted with respect to the City of Batesville Employee Handbook or <br /> Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace. <br /> SECTION 3: The City of Batesville Policy for a Drug and Alcohol Free <br /> Workplace which was presented to the City Council on July 19, 2011, by the <br /> City's Safety Director for review is hereby adopted and shall become a part of the <br /> • City of Batesville Employee Handbook. <br />
