r <br />O�DINANCE NO. 66V. <br />AN ORDINANCE REGUUF TING VEHICLUAR 7RAFF IC FOLLOMNG A <br />FIRE ALARM AND DURING A FIRE IN THE CITY OF BATESVILLE; <br />PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS: <br />Definitions The term 'nor other fire apparatus" as used herein is defined <br />as any privately owned vehicle in use and being driven by a member of the <br />City Volunteer Fire Department while traveling in response to a fire alarm <br />and an route to a fire, and at the time regularly sounding audible signals <br />by the use of a siren. <br />Section 1. No person shall drive any vehicle over and across any City Fire <br />Department hose when same is laid, either in case of fire, fire drill or <br />otherwise; nor shall the driver of any vehicle follow ang fire truck or <br />other fire apparatus which is responding to a fire alarm closer than 500 <br />feet, or drive into or park such vehicle within the block where any such <br />fire truck or other fire apparatus has stopped in answer to a fire alarm. <br />No vehicle shall pass or attempt to pass any fire truck or other fire appa- <br />ratus when same is answering a fire alarm and proceeding to a fire; nor shall. <br />any such vehicle obstruct or in any manner interfere with, hamper or delay any <br />such fire truck or other fire apparatus when same is responding to a fire alarm. <br />Section 2. 'JJhen a fire al&rm is sounded and when tkn fire truck or other fire <br />apparatus is proceeding to a fire, any vehicle which may then be moving upon <br />any of the streets of the City of Batesville shall pull immediately to edge <br />of the street or curb on the right and remain parked and standing until said <br />fire truck or other fire apparatus shall have passed, or until the driver <br />shall have ascertained that such truck or other fire apparatus will not pass <br />along said street; provided, any such vehicle shall not stop in an intersection <br />or so near an intersection as to interfere with said fire truck or other fire <br />apparatus in turning at such cross street. <br />Section 3. Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance, or any provision <br />t Vireo , shall be fined in any sum not less than One Dollar nor more than <br />� Dollars. <br />Section 4.
