City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the council with his monthly report. <br /> Mr. Johnson said the utility plants are running well and utility and street <br /> constructions are staying busy. He expects the one arm sanitation truck to be <br /> here the first of next year. Mr. Johnson said he is lacking one easement to <br /> complete the Contract Section III easements. He said if he does not have the <br /> easement soon legal action will have to be taken. <br /> C) HEAR FROM RETIRED FIREFIGHTERS <br /> Retired Firefighter Bob Davis stood up and thanked the citizens of Batesville for <br /> their support in raising the fire pension millage to 1.0 mills. He also thanked the <br /> city council members for their support in placing the measure on the ballot. <br /> D) CONSIDER THE ADDITIONAL LEVY OF TAXES FOR FIRE PENSION <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said due to the election results and the count has been <br /> certified, the new levy amount to be certified should be 5 mills for City General <br /> and 1 Mill for Firemen's Pension. Councilmember Shetron so moved to levy the <br /> new rates and Councilmember Matthews seconded. All voted for. <br /> E) DISCUSS A POSSIBLE AMENDMENT TO THE CURBSIDE WASTE DISPOSAL <br /> ORDINANCE <br /> The council discussed the proposed ordinance to amend the current curbside <br /> waste disposal. Mayor Elumbaugh said the ordinance will be on the next <br /> meeting's agenda for consideration. <br /> F) OCTOBER PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the October, 2018 paid bills report for review. <br /> G) REVIEW OF THE 2017 ANNUAL AUDIT <br />
