In a recent meeting, the Planning
Commission had decided to keep the language that covered the parking
requirements but is requesting that a "Waiver of Standards" be added to the
code. This would give a developer an opportunity to submit a request for a
variance to Code Enforcement in the event the building size is larger than
needed parking. Councilmember Shetron expressed some concerns about the
special meeting time and place, wanting to make sure the public had input on the
matter. Councilmember Bryant noted that a public hearing on the matter had
already been held by the Planning Commission. Councilmember Shetron had a
few other concerns which was also discussed.
