E) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BATESVILLE ZONING <br /> DISTRICTS MAP TO ALLOW MULTIPLE SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSES ON A <br /> SINGLE SPECIFIC LOT. <br /> Councilmember Poole introduced an ordinance to amend the Batesville Zoning <br /> Districts Map to allow multiple single-family houses on a single specific lot. Code <br /> Enforcement Officer Chad McClure addressed the council regarding the <br /> ordinance. Mr. McClure said Mr. Joey Markowski, who was also present, is <br /> asking for the rezoning to allow him to build 8 small, 429 sq. ft., individual houses <br /> on the specific lot. Mr. McClure said after a public hearing and a few changes, <br /> the Planning Commission approve the request. Mr. Markowski said instead of <br /> building an apartment building, which the lot was already approved for, he <br /> wanted to give renters the option of a small house with their own green space <br /> instead of an apartment. After some discussion, Councilmember Fredricks <br /> moved to suspend the rules and read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember <br /> Hinkle seconded and the electronic roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Mr. <br /> Meitzen read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember Fredricks moved to <br /> further suspend the rules and waive the second and third readings. <br /> Councilmember Hubbard seconded and the electronic roll count was 7 for and 0 <br /> against. Councilmember Hinkle moved to adopt the ordinance and <br /> Councilmember Poole seconded and the electronic roll call count was 7 for and 0 <br /> against. The ordinance was given #2019-06-02.
