Run in a westerly direction along the centerline of Harrison St. to its intersection with the centerline of <br />Tanglewood St., then, <br />Run along Tanglewood St. to its intersection with the centerline of 26th St., then, <br />Run in a northerly direction along the centerline of 26th St. to its intersection with the centerline of Byers <br />St., then, <br />Run in a westerly direction along Byers St. to its intersection with the centerline of 20th St., then, <br />Run in a northerly direction along the centerline of 20th St. to its intersection with the centerline of Porter <br />St., then, <br />Run in a westerly direction along the centerline of Porter St. to its intersection with the centerline of 19th <br />St., the point of beginning. <br />Section 2: A colored map, labeled EXHIBIT "A", showing the boundary lines for each Ward as outline <br />above, hereby attached and made a part hereof and shall take precedent if the extremely irregular city limit <br />boundaries results in the questioning of the intent or accuracy of the descriptions in Section 1, above. <br />Section 3: The wards described herein shall comprise the new wards for the City of Batesville and will <br />comprise the wards for the next alderman election held, and in each subsequent election until further <br />modified by the City Council. <br />Section 4: The Council person who are currently serving in the old Wards shall continue to serve until the <br />new Council is formed at the first regular meeting of the City Council in January 2023 as per the results of <br />the November 2022 General Election. <br />EMERGENCY CLAUSE: Whereas it is necessary to effect the public peace, health, safety and welfare and <br />the orderly administration of the primary and general elections in 2021 of the City an emergency is hereby <br />declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its passage. <br />IT IS SO ORDAINED. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have set our hands this / day of 2021. <br />APPROVED: ' <br />RICK ELU UGH M <br />ATTEST: q4jv—�� <br />DENIS JOHNSTON, CLER <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />TIMOTHY MEITZEN, CITY ATTORNEY <br />
