CITY OF BATESVILLE Employment Policies <br /> Employee Handbook <br /> A. EEO POLICY STATEMENT <br /> Equal Employment Opportunity is a high priority with the City of Batesville. <br /> Employment decision including recruiting, hiring, transfer, promotion, training, <br /> compensation, benefits, discipline, and termination of employment with the City <br /> will be made on the basis of an individual's skills, knowledge, abilities, job <br /> performance, and other legitimate qualifications in accordance with state and <br /> federal laws. <br /> It is prohibited for any employee of the City of Batesville to refuse to hire, train, <br /> promote, or provide equitable employment conditions to any employee or <br /> applicant, or to discipline or dismiss an employee solely on the basis of such <br /> person's race, national origin, age, sex, marital status, military status, religious <br /> beliefs, or physical handicap, except where the doctrine of business necessity or <br /> a bona fide occupational qualification can reasonably be demonstrated. <br /> In establishing this policy, the City of Batesville recognizes the need to initiate <br /> and maintain personnel measures to ensure the achievement of equal <br /> employment opportunities in all aspects of our workplace settings, conditions, <br /> and decisions.
