ORDINANCE NO. *0 X— <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE <br /> PURCHASE OF WATER TREATMENT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CITY <br /> OF BATESVILLE WATER TREATMENT PLANT <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Batesville Water Treatment Plant is in need of short term water <br /> treatment improvements to be purchased immediately; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BATESVILLE, <br /> ARKANSAS: <br /> Section 1. That the City of Batesville Water Utilities Department needs to purchase said <br /> equipment as follows: <br /> 1. 14 Radial Launderers per clarifier(primer & painted) <br /> 2. 304 Stainless Steel Launderer Adder <br /> 3. Fiberglass V-notch Weirs Adder <br /> 4. Filter Equipment and Turbidity Meters <br /> 5. Control System Software, System Control Computer with <br /> Data Logging, Miscellaneous Network Equipment and <br /> • Installation. <br /> Section 2. That said equipment is to be purchased for the approximate sum of <br /> $1,215,200.00, more or less. <br /> Section 3. That the City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58- <br /> 303 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to <br /> purchase the above described equipment for the price set forth in Section 2 above. <br /> Section 4. EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is further found that due to the immediate need <br /> to acquire the above mention equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance <br /> being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect from <br /> and after its passage and approval. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this `f'6day of aU 2007. <br /> Honorable Rick , <br /> • ATTEST: <br /> Denise M.
