ORDINANCE NO. 2007-10-1 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FEES TO BE CHARGED BY BATESVILLE WATER UTILITIES FOR WORK RELATED WATER AND SEWER SERVICES. WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Batesville owns and operates water distribution, pumping and treatment facilities (water treatment works), and sewage collection,pumping and treatment facilities(sewage treatment works); and WHEREAS, in order to recoup the cost of performing these services from the individuals requiring Batesville Water Utilities to perform or creating the circumstances causing Batesville Water Utilities to perform such services; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE,ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: WATER CONNECTION FEES A connection fee shall be charged for connection to the Batesville Water Utilities System for all customers both inside and outside of the Batesville City Limits. "All customers" does include rental property connected for the property owner for a short time, transfer of service from one service address to another, readouts or change of service (if a trip is necessary) from one name to another. Due to a connection fee charge for all connections, the less than six month charge of$5.00 is hereafter no longer charged. If the Batesville Water Utilities' employee must work past 5:00 PM in order to complete the connection, it is considered a continuation of the work day after 5:00 PM and must be charged at the overtime rate. If the Batesville Water Utilities' employee must be called in after having left the premises of Batesville Water Utilities, it shall be considered an emergency call out and the customer shall be charged for two hours at the overtime rate. • Description Charge During normal work hours $15.00 After five continuation of work day $35.00 Employee called in after having ended the work day $65.00 SECTION 2: DEPOSITS Deposit shall be as follows: Residential Amount Water $40.00 Sewer $40.00 Water and Sewer $80.00
