<br />B) SECOND READING OF AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING VARIOUS FEDERAL <br />AND STATE CODES <br />Councilmember Bryant made a motion to read the ordinance by title only. <br />Councilmember Poole seconded and the electronic roll call was 7 for and 0 <br />against. (Councilmember Matthews joined the meeting at approximately 5:35 <br />p.m.) Mr. Meitzen read the ordinance by title only. Mayor Elumbaugh said the <br />ordinance will be placed on the next meeting’s agenda for the third reading. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A) POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />Assistant Police Chief John Scarbrough presented the monthly Police <br />Department report, which included 40 accidents, 14 arrests and 64 incident <br />reports. He said the 4 new radar guns have been ordered and should ship on <br />th <br />the 18 of this month. <br />B) FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />Fire Chief Mark McCollum addressed the council with his monthly report. Chief <br />McCollum said that June was a busy month with 48 calls, of which 5 were <br />structure fires (3 of those in one day). He also gave a break down of other <br />incidents for the month as well as reporting 208 training hours for his department. <br />C) MS. CRYSTAL JOHNSON, CHAMBER CEO, WITH A QUARTERLY UPDATE <br />ON A&P <br />Ms. Johnson presented the quarterly update on A&P. She discussed some of the <br />new data tools and the stats they show and how these tools are helping to know <br />how the current marketing strategy is performing.
