Mr. Johnson said they are beginning to make the repairs and the city is <br />watching to make sure they are repaired to the city’s standards. <br />D) MAIN STREET BATESVILLE UPDATE <br />Mandy Curtwright, Main Street Batesville Executive Director, and Bob Carius <br />addressed the council with a Main Street Batesville update. Ms. Curtwright <br />commented that our Main Street lost only one business in 2020 due to the <br />COVID epidemic. She gave the council an update of the different attractions and <br />fund raisers for 2020 and 2021. The car show always attracts a large crowd as <br />does the haunted house attracting approximately 200 admissions per night. A <br />new event in 2021 was the Big Fun on the Bayou held and the new Maxfield <br />rd <br />Park. A Halloween parade is scheduled on October 23 and Halloween will be <br />th <br />observed on October 30 with businesses taking part as will as activities in the <br />Pocket Park. Ms. Curtwright thanked the City for its continued support and <br />asked for an increase of $5,000.00 for 2022. Mayor Elumbaugh said the request <br />will be considered during the 2022 budget process. <br />E) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF EXPENDITURES <br />REQUIRED FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING <br />Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance to adopt the new State <br />requirements for competitive bidding for goods and services from $20,000.00 to <br />$35,000.00 and for public improvements from $35,000.00 to $50,000.00. <br />Councilmember Hinkle moved to suspend the rules and read the ordinance by <br />title only. Councilmember Bryant seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and <br />0 against. Mr. Meitzen read the ordinance by title only. After a discussion, <br /> <br />
