GO, JUDGES 870-793-8803 T-555 P002/004 F-903 <br /> • 2009 Amendment To The Interlocal Cooperation Agreement Regarding Law <br /> Enforcement <br /> This agreement entered into this 9 day of March 2009 by and between <br /> Independence County Arkansas and the City of Batesville Arkansas for the purpose of <br /> amending the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement Regarding Law Enforcement, for the <br /> purposes and can considerations as follows: <br /> 1. A traffic safety officer will be added to the Metro Division of the <br /> Independence County Sheriff s office for the dedicated purpose of enforcing <br /> traffic safety laws inside the City of Batesville. <br /> 2. The traffic safety officer will work no more than forty(40)hours per week, <br /> and may be called upon to work irregular or"split" shifts. <br /> 3. The traffic safety officer's primary responsibility will be enforcement of State <br /> laws and local ordinances related to traffic control, speed and other traffic <br /> safety issues. The traffic safety officer will not be responsible for accident <br /> investigations, property crimes investigation, domestic disturbance calls or <br /> other duties traditionally encountered by patrol deputies. <br /> 4. The traffic safety officer will work inside the city limits of Batesville unless <br /> called upon by the Sheriff to perform temporary duty in a unique emergency <br /> situation. <br /> 5. The City of Batesville will furnish a patrol vehicle, all equipment and supplies <br /> required for the traffic safety officer. <br /> 6. The City of Batesville will furnish fuel annually for the traffic safety officer. <br /> 7. The City of Batesville will pay Independence County on a quarterly basis for <br /> the traffic safety officer along with the quarterly payments made to <br /> accomplish the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement. <br /> 8. Other than the specific considerations herein,the relative rights and <br /> responsibilities of the City and County related to the traffic safety officer will <br /> be the same as a regular Metro Division patrol officer. <br />
