WHEREAS there is a tremendous need in North-Central Arkansas to enhance the quality of <br /> health profession education;to increase the availability of academic resources for health professionals; <br /> to retain Arkansas graduates of health profession schools;to improve the supply and distribution of a <br /> primary health care providers in the region; to increase the number of individuals from the region to <br /> enter health care careers; to supply professional support and continuing education for health care <br /> providers in the region; to promote cooperation and coordination among the local communities, <br /> health care providers, educational institutions, and health related organizations;and to provide quality <br /> health care services and educational programs to the public. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City of Batesville is committed to <br /> working with White River Health System and UAMS through an Area Health Education Center in <br /> Batesville to help better meet the above-stated health profession education needs of North-Central <br /> Arkansas and to improve the quality of health care for all of its citizens. <br /> Passed and approved this 9th day of April, 2002. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Lot*" /0 <br /> Denise M.
